Title: AMAC Carb
Post by: shorrog on September 26, 2016, 04:36:23 PM
Hi Folks
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of trying to make a new throttle valve and air Valve for a 1925 AMAC Carb. The carb body of mine looks good with no significant wear but the valves are pretty badly worn and the engine is running very lean and spitting back etc. I think I could make the air valve out of a solid piece of brass but I will need to fabricate the throttle valve

If you want to make one, fine, but Martin Bratby probably has one in stock! Check him out on:     07772 169524 or 01543 572583

Hi Folks
Thanks for the replies and the contacts. I did contact Martin and he does have new oversize valves, however in the end I had a go at making a new slide and I took a few photos that you can see on the main website http://www.marston-sunbeam.org/technicalNotes/amacNewValves.html (http://www.marston-sunbeam.org/technicalNotes/amacNewValves.html).
The new slide does seem to have improved things but there are still issues with the running which require further investigation.
