Mine is the type that exits along the handlebars ie as you say straight pull.

It may also depend on whether you have a normal rotary throttle or a straight pull one..the normal has the cable entry underneath and the straight pull the cable exits along the direction of the handle bars, these don't often return on there own.

Having myself never riden a bike without indicators and having not yet riden this one I never thought of that but it does make sense.

I would set it so that the throttle grip is not automatically pulled back, Peter. This is the only way you can indicate the direction of travel with your right hand without having to release the throttle. This is the case with my machine.

Hello again another question!
I have fitted a new throttle spring in the carburettor my question is should the spring have enough force to pull the twist grip back when you let go.
Mine doesn't and i am wondering if this is the normal or is the twist grip maybe in need of some fettling ie strip down and lubricate etc.
The cable is loose in the sleeve by the way.
