An interesting one; all my old "stops" from the thirties era use a pinkish material which has been useable. I'll have to do some more analysis.

Originally the stops were leather, but the Club now has a stock of replacement friction material. You may have to machine it to fit the screws, depending on the model.  I set mine, for a 1926 M5) to have a total of 13mm from the back of the screw head to the end of the friction material. I also machined a small angle cone on the material to reflect the angle of the outer clutch plate. I don't know yet if this helps, but it seemed logical to me!

I used the same stuff on my '35 M95, which is different in design from the '26 machine. I can't remember the details, but I think the extension from the screwed carrier was about 8mm.

Hi,
Could someone tell me what material is used inside the metal clutch stops and how much should it protrude. I found the method for adjustment on previous posts but no mention of the material.
