I've had this problem for some years and the bike has done the last 2 Banbury runs like it and is set to do this weeks run too being ridden by my friend ALAN CONNOR. Bought it about 8 years ago and it never was like that.

1930 Model 9 SUNBEAM    Every 100 yards or so it momentarily hiccups like transmission drops (or ignition cuts) out or snatches then back in immediately. No nasty noise from gearbox and I've looked at clutch and clutch bridge as I wondered if something was causing a clutch outage or the ESA was going over centre (not possible I think)

Does this in ALL GEARS

The mag has been rebuilt (excellent quick work by Rutland Dynamos: Peter De Kramer) new long reach 18mm plug fitted the carb cleaned and different slides tried.

Chain and sprockets front and back seem in good order and to be honest I just don't ride it as I have other bikes that worry me less

A friend had a similar problem with a flat tank Model 9 apparently cured by weakening the mixture which sounds soppy but does not work for me. Spent last couple of days going over everything without dis-assembling the engine.

Advice welcome ...and anybody is welcome to take it for a ride and help analyse the issue. I'm in Warwickshire
