In many cases, the end of the shaft was brazed into the kickstart quadrant. It is 8 inches in length and the Diameter is 5/8” (15.9mm), a longer version (S1-4518/1 measuring 8 5/16 ins) is also available for later 1928-35 models with 3 or 4 speed Sunbeamgearboxes.
